CSM Gregory B. Slater

Command Sergeant Major Slater was born in 1970 and grew up in Washougal, Washington. He joined the Army Reserves in 1989 and attended One Station Unit Training as an infantryman at Ft Jackson, SC.

His assignments and tours of duty include: Pathfinder team member, 54th Airborne Pathfinder Platoon, Wenatchee, WA; Small Arms Instructor, 104th Division (Training), Vancouver Barracks, WA; Recon Team Leader, Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, and First Sergeant within the 41st IBCT, Oregon National Guard; Intelligence NCO, Command and Control Cell, Company Team Charlie, Camp Doha, Kuwait; Special Assistant to the Commanding General Operations NCO, Ft Benning, GA; Ranger Instructor 4th Ranger Training Battalion, Ft Benning, GA; Command Sergeant Major, Warrior Training Center, Ft Benning, GA; ARNG Training Sergeant Major, Arlington Hall, Arlington, VA, and the ARNG G-3 Sergeant Major, Arlington Hall, Arlington, VA.

CSM Slater currently serves as the Command Sergeant Major of the Professional Education Center, Camp Robinson, AR. He has deployed in support of Operation Southern Watch and Operation Enduring Freedom.

CSM Slater is a graduate of numerous military schools and courses including: the Basic Airborne, Air Assault, Ranger, Jumpmaster, Pathfinder, Long Range Surveillance Leader, Rappel Master, Modern Army Combatives Program Trainer, Master Resilience Trainer, CSM/SGM Force Management, as well as various tactical and instructor training courses and certifications, and is nationally registered as an Emergency Medical Technician. He has completed all levels of NCOES, the First Sergeant Course and the Command Sergeants Major Course. He holds a masters degree from the University of San Francisco.

Some of his awards and decorations include: the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Expeditionary Medal, Army Staff Identification Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, various foreign awards and badges, and the Order of St. Maurice.

Command Sergeant Major Slater is unmarried and has no children.
